“Look UP and see Earendil!”

Posted by scorpiomkm on March 21, 2007

two day
moon

The Moon’s thin crescent will tonight only be visible for a short while after sunset, low in the west. Although the Sun only illuminates a small part of the Moon as seen from the Earth, an observer on the Moon would see that the opposite is true of the Earth – it would appear almost full. As a result, the dark portion of the Moon receives a good deal of light reflected from the Earth, and it may be possible to see, faintly, much of the detail normally only visible around the time of the full moon. This effect is sometimes called the “old moon in the new moon’s arms”.

For all you “Lord of the Rings” Fans ~ go out and look up at that beautiful Moon. Because directly beneath it you’ll see Earendil, Father of Elrond, floating amidst a black heavenly sea. The Silmaril shining brightly on the bow of his ship Vingilot

Yep!

There he is!

As a sign of Hope to those oppressed by Evil.

Earendil the Beautiful!

              Earendil “The Flammifer of Westernesse”!

                                        Go! See Earendil!!

Charged astronaut gets new Navy job

Wed Mar 21

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas – The former astronaut fired by  NASA after she was charged with trying to kidnap a romantic rival will develop flight lesson plans as part of her new military assignment.

Navy Capt. Lisa Nowak will work on developing curriculum and training programs when she joins the staff of the Chief of Naval Air Training Command in Corpus Christi next month, said a Navy spokesman, Lt. Sean Robertson.

She was originally expected to report for work this week, but Robertson said Nowak will start her new job in April.

Nowak was arrested Feb. 5 on suspicion of confronting a romantic rival in a parking lot at the airport in Orlando, Fla. Police said Nowak pepper-sprayed Air Force Capt. Colleen Shipman, the girlfriend of astronaut Bill Oefelein, and had in her possession a BB gun, steel mallet, knife and rubber tubing.

NASA fired Nowak a month later, and the Navy said she would be transferred to the Corpus Christi command. She is free on bail.

Nowak, a mother of three, could go to trial in late July. Her arraignment was scheduled for Thursday but she is not expected to appear since her attorney already has filed a not guilty plea to the charges of attempted kidnapping, burglary with assault and battery.

Rescued Scout Was ‘Homesick’

Hero Dog Leads Searchers to Lost Boy

By ESTES THOMPSON

AP

McGRADY, N.C. (March 21) – A 12-year-old Boy Scout who survived in the North Carolina mountains for four days scarfed down chicken fingers after being reunited with his overjoyed parents and explained that he wandered away from his troop because he missed his family.

“He was homesick,” said Kent Auberry, father of Michael, at a hospital news conference Tuesday. “He started walking and at one point when he was walking he thought maybe he’d walk as far as the road and hitchhike home.”

“We’re going to have our lectures about hitchhiking again,” the elder Auberry added. “We’ve had them in the past, but with a special vigor, we’ll go over that again with Michael.”

A dog caught Michael’s scent less than a mile from the campsite where he had wandered away Saturday. The disappearance touched off an intensive search involving bloodhounds, heat-seeking helicopters and dozens of volunteers on foot.

A 2-year-old Shiloh shepherd called Gandalf picked up the boy’s scent, “popped his head three times” and there was Michael, walking along a stream, said Misha Marshall, Gandalf’s trainer.

“He was a little dazed,” Marshall said. “You are totally overwhelmed. You at first don’t believe he’s the person you’re looking for.”

.banner {margin:20px 0px 5px 0px;}

Searchers gave the boy — whom his father described as tired and dehydrated — granola bars, crackers and water. At the hospital after his rescue, he ate chicken fingers and asked for cookies.

Michael “wants to thank Gandalf especially — even though he ate the peanut butter crackers they gave him,” Kent Auberry joked.

It was not clear exactly how the boy was able to survive or whether he put any of his Scout wilderness training to use. Kent Auberry said he still didn’t know much about his son’s ordeal, mostly because he decided not to ask too many questions.

“He’s got a tremendous life spirit,” he said.

Michael said he slept in tree branches, drank river water and curled up under rocks. “He saw the helicopters and heard people calling him, but he yelled back and they didn’t hear him,” Kent Auberry said.

Michael had worn two jackets, one of them fleece, and was believed to have a mess kit and potato chips with him when he disappeared. Searchers found the kit within a mile of the camp site a few hours after he disappeared. The boy also said he lost his hat and glasses in the woods.

Once rescued, the first thing he said to searchers was that “he wanted a helicopter ride out of there,” said Blue Ridge Parkway ranger David Bauer.

Aside from a few cuts and scratches, Michael was in good health. Because he had been without food and water, he was carried on a stretcher to a nearby road and then taken to see his parents.

“Alot oftears, a lot of hugs,” said Tina White, spokeswoman for the National Park Service.

Later, Michael went by ambulance to the hospital. Along the way, he received IV fluids to help him rehydrate and told his father he wanted to sleep, said ambulance driver Bud Lane.

Hours earlier, the boy’s father had talked about one of Michael’s favorite books when he was younger, a story titled “Hatchet” about a boy whose plane crashes in the wilderness, and how the boy survives on his own.

“I think he’s got some of that book in his mind,” said Kent Auberry, whose son had camped overnight several times before. “They do a great job in the Scouts of educating the kids of what to beware of and tips. I’m hopeful that Michael has taken those to heart.”

After the rescue, Kent Auberry said: “To have our son back is a tremendous blessing.” But he offered a plea from Michael about making up his sixth-grade schoolwork.

“He’s worried about make-up work in Miss Self’s class,” Auberry said. “So if Miss Self could cut him a break, he would be very, very grateful.”

Isn’t that Interesting that the dog that found the child was named “Gandalf“, huh!

Seems like every year we hear about storys of kids getting lost in the Wilderness. And just as often it seems that kids somehow survive the experience.

The ‘Least’ of these.

I’ve always found this Interesting because in Islam they state that one of the Proofs of Islam is that it speaks to the Universality of its Principles, as well as its adherence to the Natural Laws set forth by God.

It seems to me then that …. in Nature, there’s this tendency for the Wilderness to somehow protect little children far more so than adults. I don’t have any statistics on this ~ but rarely (if at all) do I read about a Child not returning from the Wilderness after having been LOST, have you?

So there has to be ‘something‘ inherently at work here for that to occur. For consider that most kids that were Interviewed AFTER the experience tell of no animal attacks; they tell of having  followed few (if any) survival techniques given; and generally one has to go beyond mere LUCK to seek an explanation for their survival ~ as if somehow said SURVIVAL was the result of them solely being in the hands of God and the Wilderness that somehow sought to Protect & Defend them against the bone-chilling night, animal attack, and dehydration.

I have long held that these examples of Children surviving the Wilderness are yet another PROOF of the ‘Religious Experience’. That somehow these examples support the Universal Religious Precepts of “Honoring and Protecting the Least of these” or according to Christian Doctrine’s Call to:

Unless one has the Heart of Child ….” Ideas.

See. That’s why it’s so callous and harmful whenever we as a Society place such a low priority on the Welfare of Children. Because you see, a Child’s Welfare & Protection is adhered to even in the Wilderness where often it’s thought that a Child is at greatest Risk.

A LOT can be said about how a Society ~ a Civilization ~ has Progressed and Developed simply by seeing how said Society treats and cares for its Children.

The ‘Least’ of these.

And often the least Protected.

Because it’s quite apparent to me, that Child welfare and Care is one of the Chief Principles at the Heart of any Religion that views God as a Loving and Beneficent Force.

Because after all …. we see it in operation even in the Wilderness.

Schwarzenegger Calls Rush ‘Irrelevant’

LOS ANGELES – Republican Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger said Tuesday that the views of his conservative critics, including Rush Limbaugh, are irrelevant to his work in California.

“All irrelevant. Rush Limbaugh is irrelevant. I am not his servant,” Schwarzenegger said in an interview on NBC’s “Today” show.

The governor’s repudiation of Limbaugh comes as he is being accused of betraying his party’s values. Many fellow Republicans have balked at Schwarzenegger’s more moderate views on stem-cell research, global warming and universal health care.

Schwarzenegger said he was “the people’s servant of California. What they call me — Democrat or Republican or in the center, this and that — that is not my bottom line.”

Limbaugh responded on his radio program: “If he had the leadership skills to articulate conservative principles and win over the public as (former President) Reagan did, then he would have stayed conservative.”

Schwarzenegger spokesman Aaron McLear said the governor’s comments were not meant as a personal attack.

“The question was about the criticisms the governor gets from the right, and he thinks it’s irrelevant to what he’s trying to accomplish here in California,” McLear said.

Schwarzenegger has been a registered Republican since becoming a U.S. citizen in 1983.

When first elected in 2003, Schwarzenegger offered a populist message. But then he made a conservative shift two years later when he tried to push through a series of measures that, among other things, would have diminished the influence of California’s public employee unions. His approval ratings plummeted.

More recently, he’s been championing political cooperation under something he’s dubbed “post-partisanship.”

                                             ___________

The other night I turned on my radio to listen to “Right wing ‘Talk Radio'” and I swear to god:

Soon I started to grow fangs <g>.

My chest became a rug of Neanderthal type hair; I suddenly had this urge to want to KILL somebody ~ preferably some Dark Skinned kat <g>; as well I started to sing “God Bless America” while drinking a glass of oil and blood!

                                        : )

My Governor ~ the Governator <g> ~ ‘Gets It’! Arnold finally realized that if he wished to govern in the Great State of California where bright and articulate people reside …. that he needed to DUMP that loony tune GOP Agenda and get with the People!

Conservatism, especially the Right wing kind, is nothing more then Death, Destruction, Intolerance, Empty Jingoism, and Racist by intent. Principles, I might add, that are successful ONLY when the American People are scared, harmed, or overly Nationalistic. But ya see …. those Conditions are merely temporary and can not sustain itself more then a few years. By then the People WAKE UP and shake from the slumber such bogus and ‘Wild Man’ thinking.

Arnold can ‘read’ an audience, baby!  : )

See. That’s why he had the audacity to call Rush Fatbaugh ‘out’ the other day. Because he (Arnold) knows that the ‘Day of the Neanderthal’ is OVER! Middle Class Americans are NOW asking questions about their jobs; their Pensions; their Homes; the shrinking Economy; the corruption in High Places; and the Leadership in this nation.

It’s all well and dandy to Wave Flags and proudly sing “God Bless America” when the government scares the living daylights out of ya with ‘Terrorist Talk’ and Color Alerts 24/7 :

quite another when your Job is being shipped overseas and you see a $3/gal sign posted when you go to fill your gas tank.

One thing to rant and rave about ‘Islamo Fascist’ over there, quite another to KNOW that your President is reading your emails; and/or going through your bank accounts; and/or using the Attorney General as his Personal “Boy”, huh!

I’ve NEVER understood the allure of kats like Fatball, Hannity, and Savage.

                                              NEVER!

Because to ‘get in’ to their way of THINKING (?), one must BY NATURE truly be a BASTARD that cares little for anything or anybody save oneself!

Bill O’Reilly ~ that ‘Dead Head’ ~ represents the WORST of Human Behavior and Intellectual Development. That’s why I’m so happy that Republicans (like Arnold) are finally saying to these Neanderthals that feed on the Lowest Common Denominator of Human debasement:

             “You kats are IRRELEVANT!”

                                Letters To The Editor

 j4jesus Says:

9-11 was our fault, huh?

By the way, I am more than familiar with the greed, hubris and racism in this country. You should not hear me saying that America is perfect. It is not. America cannot solve the world’s problems. In fact, the American government cannot solve most of the problems that we face within our own borders. I simply don’t buy into the “hubris” and dogma that Michael Moore and MoveOn are feeding all of their followers.

  1. More to the point: here is the question that I think you and others must answer: what must happen for America to get itself right in the world.

And one more thought: (and I could be wrong here) but before you lecture us all about greed, when was the last time you turned on a computer purchased on credit, or put gasoline in a car, or stopped at a coffee shop, or ate out, or bought new clothes or shopped in an organic market or watched television or saw a movie? Greed is not just a governmental thing. It begins at the grass roots level. It’s sort of like Al Gore lecturing all of us about our SUV’s and energy consumption while he flies around on private jets, burns up electricity in his own home and then tries to placate us by saying he’s buying carbon offsets.

Believe me: I am not one who has bought wholesale into Rush and Hannity and I’ve never even listened to Michael Savage. The problem is that you have bought into everything you hear Michael Moore and MoveOn and Al Franken tell you.

For example: Rush and Hannity are way off base on the immigration issue and totally misunderstand how the American Dream really works in regards to this issue. The local economy would fall apart where I live if illegal immigrants weren’t here! My suspicion is that they are off base in totally writing off global warming (even though the mainstream media has done an excellent job of shutting down climatologists and scientists who aren’t so sure about it). Moreover, I think that many of my fellow Christians are totally wrong about bans on gay marriage. I also think that the Republican Party is totally off base on its platform on the death penalty. In fact, one of the worst things that may have happened to evangelical Christianity is its life-times one night stand with the republican party!

I challenge you to tell me something that you’ve heard from Moore or Gore or Soros or MoveOn that you believe they are absolutely wrong about. Perhaps that will help us figure out who thinks critically and who does not.

Perhaps you should move to Iran. Apparently there’s no difference between here and there. Oh yeah! You couldn’t write these kind of comments in Iran.

                                                                         _______________

The above writer has responded SEVERAL TIMES <g> to my Blog Entry entitled “Four YEARS and Counting”. I appreciate his/her Comments for to me …. the Remarks characterize a Conservative, Right wing Evangelical approach to how THEY view the world.

I thought I’d critique his Remarks to illustrate ‘why’ our nation is in the pickle its in currently, and also ‘why’ the neocon-neonazis have taken us down the Path of Ruin.

Point #1: Jesus <g> begins with : “9-11 was our fault, huh?”

How ‘911’ entered into all of this I don’t know. But I do KNOW that just as Patriotism is the last refuge of a scoundrel …. so, too, is ‘911’ the last refuge to flaunt Arrogance, Greed, and Nationalism upon ‘those’ who had NOTHING to do with the Events on September 11, 2001 ~ Iraq specifically. But THIS Right wing Conservative Administration USED ‘911’ to trample the U.S. Constitution via “The Patriot Act”; gave to Dick Cheney’s former employer NO BID CONTRACTS worth billions; ignored the principles of the Geneva Convention; created a climate in this country where Arab Americans were now held in suspicion and fear (not to mention the same whose Faith is Islam); and adopted a Policy of Preemption in dealing with those THIS ADMINISTRATION felt were against it.

September 11th has been USED as a deodorant to mask the stink of THIS ADMINISTRATION and those Right wingers that view the world as their playpen. Much as past Colonialist reeked havoc in Africa and Asia. In fact, if you people take the TIME to read “The Project for a New American Century” (PNAC) ~ a neocon ‘Think Tank’ ~ bible entitled “Rebuilding Americas Defenses”, a Document composed in the Late 90s, in it you’ll see where the neocons had designs on Iraq, Iran, and Syria BEFORE George Bush ever took Office! Of Interest, too, the Document proclaims (mind you it was written BEFORE Bush took Office):

“In order for our Agenda to take hold of the American People, first there needs to take place a ‘Pearl Harbor’ type incident.”

This was stated by Bush’s Buddies BEFORE he took Office, and BEFORE September 11, 2001!!

Jesus then moves on to reiterate how America is not perfect (duh <g>), and how he/she has disdain for the Michael Moore Crowd. But then he enters this:

Point #2:  More to the point: here is the question that I think you and others must answer: what must happen for America to get itself right in the world.

Getting rid of Bush in less than 2 years will be a great first start. The WORLD ~ let alone our so-called adversaries ~ doesn’t TRUST the U.S. anymore. And while Conservatives, Right wingers, and Evangelicals have ZERO respect for such Bodies as the United Nations ….. such Organizations as the UN form and shape World Opinion! That’s why it’s a real killer to have Conservative Neanderthals like John Bolton as U.S. Ambassador; because that right there sends a chilling message to the world:

“We’re the United States, and the hell with the rest of you!”

Further, the United States can not continue to treat her Black, Brown, and non-Christian Citizens as Second Class, and yet expect the World to believe that we’re the HOME of Freedom, Justice, and Equality! Because when the Right wingers boast how the rest of the World envies us:

“No!” What the rest of the WORLD is doing is WATCHING how we treat ‘All’ of our Citizens!

So in Answer to Jesus <g>: Change MUST first occur here at HOME. A change whereby we ‘stand down’ from all this Arrogance and Bullying, and put into place Policies whereby we view the World as Equal Partners in the battle to fight World Hunger, World Disease, World Terrorism, World Poverty, and Global Warming ~ unless there are still a few that don’t believe in such.

I’m a Big Time “Liberal” and Proud of it! But whether one is ‘Progressive’ or ‘Regressive’ (Conservative), we’re ‘All’ in the same boat, so to speak!

Point #3: And one more thought: (and I could be wrong here) but before you lecture us all about greed, when was the last time you turned on a computer purchased on credit, or put gasoline in a car, or stopped at a coffee shop, or ate out, or bought new clothes or shopped in an organic market or watched television or saw a movie? Greed is not just a governmental thing. It begins at the grass roots level. It’s sort of like Al Gore lecturing all of us about our SUV’s and energy consumption while he flies around on private jets, burns up electricity in his own home and then tries to placate us by saying he’s buying carbon offsets.

Believe me: I am not one who has bought wholesale into Rush and Hannity and I’ve never even listened to Michael Savage. The problem is that you have bought into everything you hear Michael Moore and MoveOn and Al Franken tell you.

Point #3,  Jesus slips into ‘stuff’ I’ve been hearing and reading from the Right wing now for YEARS. Clinton of course is the Right wing ‘bogeyman’; followed in short order by Hillary, Al (both Gore, Sharpton, and Frankin), Jesse Jackson, and of course Kennedy.

You can almost set your watch to it!!  : )

What Bill Clinton ever did to the Right is beyond me ~ unless one considers a little ‘Blow Job’ as a thing worth Impeachment <g>; or unless the Right STILL refuses to accept the FACT of “Global Warming”; or regarding Jackson and Sharpton ….. the Right will forever fail to recognize Equality for ‘All’ because it’s not in their nature to do so. But for Jesus to equate my desire to own a computer, or put gas in my car etc. as being comparable to say, Chevron ripping me ‘off’ to the tune of BILLIONS is quite another matter!

Owning a computer or putting gas in my car I equate as either NECESSITIES or having a certain Standard of Living. What the Chevrons & Halliburtons do is Excessive Profiteering!

Big Difference!!

And it’s because of this Excessive Profiteering (Greed) by Corporations, and the Benefits afforded them by THIS ADMINISTRATION is the reason I now pay over $3/gal to put that gas in my car; or why we now have glaciers MELTING at an alarming rate; or why our government treasure is deep in the red (thanks in large part to Halliburton); and why the United States has lost more  Citizen Soldiers  as they did citizens on 911:

Greed for the oil that lies under the shifting sands of Iraq!!

See. I don’t have to parrot a Michael Moore or an Al Frankin to REASON things out, OK. Hell, when the first bombs fell on Baghdad 4 YEARS ago I stated that Bush was WRONG! Long before Moore’s Film …. long before “Air America” …. and long before even Democrats had the audacity to Challenge Bush and his “Shock & Awe” nonsense. So to say that I ‘parrot’ or mimic ANYBODY is fanciful on your part, Jesus.

I simply “Write What I Like”

Point #4: I challenge you to tell me something that you’ve heard from Moore or Gore or Soros or MoveOn that you believe they are absolutely wrong about. Perhaps that will help us figure out who thinks critically and who does not.

As stated previously, I don’t have the Moores or Soros or Jacksons or Sharptons or Clintons or ANYBODY do the THINKING for me, Jesus.

Finally, Jesus Concludes with this TIME TESTED Right wing, Evangelical  mantra <g> :

Point #5: Perhaps you should move to Iran. Apparently there’s no difference between here and there. Oh yeah! You couldn’t write these kind of comments in Iran.

                                                                         : )

One thing I’ve NEVER understood with these Right wingers is …. why is it ALWAYS people that DEMAND that THIS COUNTRY live up to its Promises; or DEMAND equal treatment under the Law; or voice Opinions based upon a love for ‘All’ of Humanity etc. that Right wingers invite to Leave America, hum?  : )

Save the Native American, we’re ‘All’ Immigrants to these shores; yet the Right always tell those that resist drinking their Kool-Aid that they are the ones that should Leave!

I’ve never understood that!

It seems to me that if these Right wingers READ a little they would discover that ‘Freedom Fighters’, Civil Rights Workers’, Humanitarians, Freedom of Speech advocates, Civil Liberty advocates, so on and so forth have EARNED the Right to LIVE and STAY in this Country because they are the ones that desire of this nation to fulfill her Promises of Freedom, Justice, and Equality to ‘All’!!

In other words, Jesus : Countless Americans have lived and died to Fight against the type of America you Right wingers wish to impose ~ that is contrary to ‘All things’ truly American or Constitutional!!

So in the final analysis: just WHOM should really Leave these shores, hum?
